When visiting an osteopath for the first time, the osteopath will take thorough details of the current problem and a detailed medical history.  They can also answer any questions you may have.  You will then be asked to remove some of your clothing to allow the osteopath to examine you thoroughly.  There is no need to remove underwear.  There are towels available for patients’ comfort. The osteopath will ask you to perform some basic movements to assess how your body is working and may perform other relevant tests/examinations.  The osteopath will then discuss with you what they have found, how they propose to treat the problem and likely side effects.  You will have the opportunity to ask any questions you may have.  Assuming you give consent, the osteopath will begin treatment at the first appointment.  At the end of the treatment, the osteopath will likely suggest hydrotherapy or exercises for you to continue to aid your recovery at home.

Should the osteopath deem osteopathic treatment to be inappropriate for you, or inappropriate without further investigation, the osteopath will refer you to the relevant medical practitioner or for the necessary investigations.

Patients are welcome to bring a chaperone with them if this would make them feel more comfortable.  Unfortunately, a chaperone cannot be provided for you.

The practice is based on a quiet cul-de-sac that comes off of Hale Lane in Edgware, North West London.  There is free street parking available, and patients are welcome to use the driveway.
